Silver and Seniors Handicap Meeting
On a beautiful sunny but windy day at Thorpe Hall Golf Club on Thursday 25th September, 57 Ladies played in either the Silver Handicap or the Seniors Handicap Meeting.
The Silver players played for the Raphael Bowl and the Barber Salver, with the winner of the Raphael Bowl for handicap index scratch to 10.4 being Julie Finegan from Chigwell Golf Club with a gross score of 82 whilst the Barber Salver for handicap index 10.5 to 20.4 was won by Tania Fuller of Clacton Golf Club with a nett score of 75.
The Seniors played Stableford for the Ina Cameron Trophy with Divisions for 0ver 60 and Over 70, the overall winner of the Ina Cameron was Jill Pottle from Stoke by Nayland with 34 points, runner up Gwendoline Sperrin for Thorpe Hall with 31 points. The Over 60 winner was Kate Moss from Crondon Park Golf Club with 32 points and the Over 70 winner was Barbara Jones from Stoke by Nayland with 31 points,
All players said how much they enjoyed the course and except for the wind enjoyed the day.
Our thanks go to Thorpe Hall Golf Club for hosting these competitions and their team who ensured that everything ran smoothly, their Lady Captain who was the starter on the 10th tee and to Elaine Davidson County Captain who helped with registration, starting and entering scores, finally to the County President Karen Charles who not only played but presented the prizes.
