Norman Garon Trust Community Tour - Celebratory Event Red Tees Rules
Please Note: If you enter using the online signup option, your entry will not be accepted unless you provide a completed Parental Consent Form.
All included events shall be played in accordance with the R&A Rules of Golf and Local Rules as approved.
1) Competitors entered in the Community Tour must be:
• Of Amateur Status as defined by the R&A
• At least 10 years of age and Under the age of 18 years on the 1st January 2024.
• In possession of a Competitive Handicap registered on the WHS under the CONGU Rules of Handicapping and not exceeding that determined by the County Union as a condition of entry.
• A member of a club affiliated to the ESSEX GOLF UNION. This club must be their HOME club for Handicapping
purposes.
2) All Participants must have submitted a completed consent form to include data regarding Health & Safety / Medical / Consent to Photography & Videography to the Essex Golf Union. (also found on EGU website) Failure to do so will prevent participating in any event.
3) Competition & Entry forms
Competition entry & consent forms must be fully completed, accompanied by the correct entry fee and sent to the relevant NGT Junior Tour administrator:
a) Essex Golf Union Organised Events: Garon Park Celebratory Event
Online Entry is available to the EGU NGT Junior Tour Celebratory Event at Garon Park - Payments should be made using ClearAccept for this event ONLY, by sending money to: office@essexgolfunion.org. Please note, we no longer accept payument by cheque.
ALL forms should be scanned and emailed to office@essexgolfunion.org OR posted to NGT Junior Community Tour, 2d Maldon Road, Witham, CM8 2AB
These must be received by 12 noon of the closing date, which will be 10 days prior to the date of the event.
b) All other events included in the NGT Junior Tour are to be entered by entering directly with the relevant Club. A list of these, along with entry forms can be found on our website.
Entry fees will not be refunded or carried over to other events unless the event is unavoidably cancelled or postponed by the Essex Golf Union. The NGT Junior Community Golf Tour organisers retain the right to refuse entry without giving reason for their decision, which shall be final.
Competitors are reminded that they are required to register their intention to play 30 minutes prior to their start time in an Essex Golf Union organised event. Failure to do so may result in being disqualified from EGU organised OOM competitions.
Jeans, collarless tee shirts, tracksuits and trainers are not allowed.
Caddies must be under the age of 18 on the 01st of January 2024 and be aware of standard golfing etiquette.
Any competitor, caddy or parent/guardian who behaves in an unacceptable manner, during competition days, may be asked to leave the event and may be prevented from entering or attending any further EGU organised OOM competitions.
Mobile phones must be turned off and may not be used on the course except when contacting an emergency service or tournament administrator. They may however be used in accordance to rule 4.3a in the rules of golf.
In both Under 18 and Under 14 age groups the format of play is Stableford. Maximum Handicap for boys is 28, for girls it is 36.
Boys Under 18 Age Group will play from the ‘Tees of the day’ set by the committee
Boys Under 14 Age Group will play from the Yellow Tees
Girls will play from the Red Tees
In addition, the Order of Merit (OOM) will run over the course of the Tour with the best 7 scores taken from the total number of participated events in all Divisions.
Please note that OOM points awarded in the final NGT Junior Tour Celebratory Event at Garon Park, will roll into the following year's OOM tables and may qualify as one of a player's best seven scores. Should a player move between age groups, any points awarded at the Celebratory event, will transfer with them. For example, should a player win the Under 14 age group Celebratory event at Garon Park and then move up into the Under 18 age group, their 25 points will transfer up into the Under 18 group with them.
OOM Points Breakdown – 1st Place in an OOM Event will be awarded 25 Points, 2nd Place – 24 points, 3rd Place 23 points pro rata. Every Competitor placed 25th & lower will be awarded 1 point.
All competitors in these events will have their scores uploaded to the WHS and they will be classed as Qualifying Competitions in accordance to the R&A Rules of Golf and WHS Rules of Handicapping.
Please note, parents or guardians should be aware that children of any age, will not be supervised by county officials or volunteers on duty at the event. Parents or guardians of a child that is under twelve years of age, are expected to remain at the venue whilst their child is in attendance.
