Match Report – 21st May 2023 – U14s League Match Vs Kent & Herts at Hever Castle GC
The day started well with everyone on time at the various pick-up points. Thank you to the parents/guardians for their support. Most of the players had taken advantage of the practice round and had made very detailed notes, that they shared on the way to the venue.
We got to the venue and the players were keen to practice and play their matches. We were met by Andy SHAKESPEAR, who had walked the course and updated the players on certain aspects of the course in preparation for their respective matches. The matches were played in a very competitive spirit with all the teams, reluctant to concede a hole, unless it was obvious.
Kent put up a very strong fight against all the Essex players, losing 4.5 to 3.5. Herts struggled to compete with both Essex and Kent losing heavily to both, 7-1 to Essex and 7.5 to 0.5 to Kent.
The new players to the team adapted very well to the format and were pleased to received their County caps, which they proudly wore.
