The day started very well, with all the players in attendance on our arrival, 40 minutes prior to scheduled meeting time. We had plenty of time to sort everyone with replacement kits, before lunch was served.
The boys went through their warm up routines as previously instructed by the County coaches at other matches.
The matches started of slowly due to the difficulties in locating the golf balls when they went wide into the rough.
Rhys HATCHER, Oliver McEVOY, Aydin MALIK and Edward REEVES, all had a very good day beating both their opponents by very comfortable margins. There were other very good performances from the rest of the team.
Hertfordshire made it difficult for us in the last match of the series finishing 4 games all. Kent, who have been our strongest opponents to date, appeared to have suffered a bad day losing to Essex 6 games to 2.
This meant that the final standings for the three (3) matches are as follows:
Essex =11 points
Kent = 4 points
Hertfordshire = 3 points
We now go through to the regional finals on Sunday 17th September at Goring & Streatley GC
