Our final league match proved to be very interesting to say the least on Thursday 24th August @ Romford GC.
Paul Wilkinson playing in match number 1 unfortunately collapsed on the 4th fairway with a heart problem & was unable to play on & taken to Basildon Hospital Cardio Dept.
Play resumed & the response from the Essex players to be able to regroup & go on to win 8 matches & 1 half was excellent.
During the afternoon we heard from Paul in his hospital bed with great news that he was feeling much better & was able to be discharged later on that evening
Congratulations to the team under extreme conditions to win so convincingly.
The season ends with 2 wins 1 draw & 1 loss & we look forward to next year with hopefully some new players to make the team even stronger
